I was pretty happy how this shot turned out considering the little amount of time I put into it. The iceberg was created with the Carrara landscape generator and the realistic lighting was acheived with HDRI and global illumination. The water is actual video footage texture mapped with alpha transparency onto a single long polygon placed across the bottom of the shot. The ships are animated to roll and sway as if they are bobbing around in heavy storm ocean water.
